Hi Kris, do you perhaps have a picture of the mirror you could share? It would give us a better idea of how to help you out.
How large is your mirror and what shape is it?

You could frame it with thin molding.
Adding the right trim would be key. Thin would be the best trim. I think gold for mcm mirrors.

depends on the size and shape of the mirror. You could reframe them, cut them down to meet your present needs.
Appears that the frame is the largest part of this transformation. These are mirrors for sale but you could get some great ideas here:

What kind of mirror do you have to work with?
Describing your mirror as 'large' is too vague for us to know what type of mirror you have. If you could post a picture of it so that we can see what it looks like now, we would be better able to offer you some suggestions on what you might do to make it appear more mid-century modern.
Can you add a frame to this mirror? Is it attached to the wall? Here is how I added a frame to my bathroom mirror, maybe you could do something similar? https://www.homeroad.net/2018/04/framing-bathroom-mirror.html Hope this helps!
You don’t say what it looks like is there a boarder if not make a stencil on the glass around the whole edge of the mirror
