Command strips!
3M and COMMAND sell adhesive hooks are great and do not tear up sheetrock or paint.
3m has a lot of products to hang pictures without leaving damage. Like this http://www.ebay.ca/itm/like/282500139336?chn=ps&chn=ps available everywhere!
3m is the best. You can find them at any hardware store in different sizes and meterials
Command hooks are definitely your answer. They make them to support different weights so you can hang anything. I wish they had been around when I had started renting.
If there's molding, you can suspend it from there. Use a Brad or cup hook to suspend fishing line to hang the piece at the desired height. Depending on the weight or size you may have to use a couple
Do one each day and rest.
i agree 3m products work-make sure you check the weight it is designed for.
for lightweight things you can also put a piece of painters tape on the wall and then use a double sided mounting foam square.
The tape will come off & protect your wall When you're ready to take it down.
If you use the velcro command strips, you can keep the strips on the back of the photos or paintings and only ever replace the velcro on the wall (if you ever feel the need to move the pictures after you hang them)
Use Command Strips
Removable Velcro strips! You can reposition the picture to get it straight and no damage!!!
The easiest way I can think of is to use Command Strips. They stick well & don't damage the wall surface.
