How can I Replace my lamp Shade?

replace with the lamp covers like on a fan or the small fabric shades.

Do not use a fabric shade if the light gets hot. The lamp looks very familiar to many I have seen and they get very hot. You could try a glass shade and use a lower watt bulb, You can get glass shades that look like stained glass at any box store.

When our hard plastic shade began to crumble apart I just finished the job and put on a store bought shade that the light bulb goes through and screws into the socket. Make sure that the shades ring is thin though. One of our lamp shade rings was just a little too thick and the bulb couldn't make contact on the bottom of the lamp fixture. I was able to swap it out with another lamp shade that I already had, and the new shade didn't interfere with the other lamps bulb making contact at all.

Thank you, it does get very hot, why its falling apart & I use a 20 watt bulb, just was hoping to patch so it matches the rest of the lights

You could just turn it towards the wall where it does not show but, it is cheaper to buy another lamp than have a fire. The degraded shade could be a sign of compromised mechanical failure.

You could cover the shade with most anything, using mod podge or elmer's glue. To be safe get LED bulbs. Use less power and create more light, lasts longer too....about 25,000 hours. No I don't work for these people but I do get some of their products.

The bolt/screw on top of the lamp is where you would dismantle the globe. Take that to the box store for a replacement in metal or glass. Use of the LED bulbs is an excellent idea. I would also paint the base....something funky or industrial (black/nickle/chrome). There are some terrific bulbs that look like the original Edison bulbs. You could use that with a wire cage (also at box stores) for a really great look. As one comment said, making sure that the pieces fit together is essential, so I'd take the lamp with me when I shop. I love Lowe's because I have never gone in with a project without several of their staff getting involved in the project.
