Does all of my decor have to match?

I have a bohemian tapestry I received as a gift and I love it and I have a brass bed in the room and a natural hemp round rug on the wall and my daughter says that the hemp rug doesn't go with the tapestry, i kinda just put together things i like, I'm not a match everything person, what do you think?

Personal choice. As you stated you put together things you like. Accessories using some of the colors in the tapestry will make it blend in better.
If I makes you happy, go with it. I'd hang the tapestry over the bed and put rug on floor.
