Making DIY patio lights

I would like to make 4-6 inch balls out of grapevines. Then I'd put each ball on the bulb of a string of Christmas lights. Like home made patio lanterns. How can I do this?

Soak them in hot water and glycerine until they have flexibility. THIS may or may not work depending on how old they are. THEN form 3 circles per ball and use them for your frame to wrap the rest of the vine around

Oh, you're awesome! My next question was going be, what to use as a form. I also noticed that there are lots of wild ones growing near my house by a creek. Any specific ratio I should use? Thanks again;)
