Cheryl Ernst on Jul 14, 2015I made coasters and a trivet and was also worried about water and heat. I gave them a quick top coat of polyurethane. It's been a year and they've held up fine.Helpful Reply

Tina on Jul 14, 2015I think there is a special solution of Mod Podge for hot/heated surfaces. I don't think Mod Podge alone will last long under hot casserole dishes.Helpful Reply

Carolyn on Jul 14, 2015Another choice is to put the tiles in a cold oven. Heat to 175 degrees for 10 minutes. Turn off oven and leave the decoupaged pieces in for at least an hour. Finish with polyurethane or a "Triple Thick," which is available at Amazon or Hobby Lobby.Helpful Reply
