It is the old 12" tiles that was used in homes back in the 40's or 50's. The tiles are surrounded by a brownish edge.
Hello Lili,
Yes you can, but it will only stick to the paper and the paper must be smooth. You will only have one chance to put it on and smooth down, because the paper might come off if you try to adjust it!
Yes, you can but be sure the original wallpaper is in good shape.
Hi Lili, yes you can, hope this helps you out,

Hi Lili, You will not a problem adding the self-stick paper as long as the current paper is fully stuck to the wall and not peeling anywhere. If the paper is peeling up, even at the edges, I would remove any loose pieces and then add the new wallpaper. You should then have no problems at all. Have fun!
Many homes have multiple layers of wallpaper, but existing needs to be in good condition.
as long as it is not peeling or bubbled up you should be able to paper over it ~ https://www.limitlesswalls.com/articles/can-you-put-removable-wallpaper-over-existing-wallpaper/#:~:text=Depending%20on%20the%20state%20of,the%20wallpaper%20underneath%20it%20does.
Yes you can, be aware the moisture from the new wallpaper may moisten the old wallpaper enough to make it pull away from the wall.

You are always better off stripping the existing paper first.
Lili: as long as there are no bubbles underneath, when you put on the new one, I think you're good to go!
As a wallpaper person for the last 50 years, I would never do that as it can bubble, peel, slide down and just generally cause a lot of problems.
I get paid lots of money to fix wall paper problems. My recommendations are to strip old paper off, and never paint over it to prevent problems.

You can do that. However, if you want to remove it it's not difficult, just time consuming.
Peel as much as possible from the walls.
If you can't get to the backing, you may need to score the paper with a tool. Paper Tiger is easy to find. Light pressure because you don't want to damage the wall behind the paper.
Mix 50/50 fabric softener & warm water in a spray bottle or garden sprayer. I've read that vinegar is as effective but I have never used it.
Allow the mixture to sit for 5 - 10 minutes so that it saturates the adhesive on the paper backing.
Scrape with a plastic scraper.
Once it is all removed, wash the walls with warm soapy water (blue Dawn is my go-to) and a microfiber cloth.
I would not do that, you really want it to feel smooth. Its worth the effort to remove the old wallpaper
Hi Lili,
I agree with those who said to strip the current wallpaper. Sure, you can try to do it, but if it fails, you'll have a bigger mess. It is my opinion after working with wallpaper in my home for many years, that you're taking a chance if you don't remove the old wallpaper. Sure, it might stick for a while, but it also could come loose easier. Plus the new wet wallpaper could release the old wallpaper while you're trying to hang it. If you want the new wallpaper to last, I think it's best to remove the old wallpaper. Wishing you the best.

You can.....but it will be more work later on having to remove more than one layer.
I would not
