We don't have a deck but four porches, two up, two down. We use the downstairs porches. One screened, one not. The open one has a shelf I picked up from the ground of our town park which was once an army post and this shelf was to hold a phone. I keep a blue enamel Pot with small flags in that. I have wind chimes. A blue fibre rug, some small chairs and stands or tables. I washed the wall of this porch today and my husband will paint the decking. Also have a blue plant stand here with red and blue flowers in white containers. Side porch has a green theme. We are in the process of hanging a very heavy mirror here. We have comfortable seating and a small table and two chairs to eat at. This porch has been a summer vacation for us for many years! Now if we can only solve the problem of the morning sun being too bright to read my paper out there. If you have little children your choices might be different, but think comfort, convenience, safety and fun!
