Paint a design on them to look like it’s panelled or add panel pieces to it
If you have kids and want to allow them to have some fun, paint the doors with chalk board paint and hand the kids a box of colored chalk.
Otherwise get rid of them. Throw the doors out, stomp in them, burn them, do whatever you like to destroy them. Remove the track they slid on and rethink how you use that wall space. You have a number of options. Even in a small bedroom you have some room to play with. Probably the easiest is to get some IKEA shelf and closet units that fit your dimensions and voila! There are also numerous cut to fit kits you can find offering shelf and hanging units with doors which you can make to look like built-ins.
What I did a few years ago was put the head of the bed in the closet with a night stand on either side and above each of those I put in some shelves.q I put some cheap molding around the edge which once held those ugly doors which gave it a deliberate Murphy bed-esque appearance. At the time I had yet to give any thought to where I was to put the clothes which had hung, or more accurately occupied most of the floor of the closet which no longer existed. I was lucky enough to find two ancient matching amoires sitting on the curb. A little bit of paint and I had more usable closet space than I'd started with.
No pictures, sorry. This was over 20 years ago.
