What can you do with shoes that peel, inside and out?

Shoes don't seem to last very long now. I have a ton of shoes, some quite expensive, and they all peel and crack---inside and out!
What has happened to quality?

There's this awesome product out there called Shoe Goo for your shoe repair needs!
I used washi tape that matched pretty well, on a pair of my silver LA Gear sneakers i did not wanna give up. Had to re-glue the tape back on w. super glue fix all gel adhesive but it worked. Wearable for another 10 years. Just did not like the cracked look. best of luck.
It could be the humidity, therefore, storage of same needs to be carefully considered. The silicone bags which come inside shoeboxes should be kept, they absorb moisture. If you don't have any of them, you can put cat litter in an old sock, another type of absorbent, and leave that near your shoes. Perhaps this could be of help, when in USA, I had problems with peeling leather, so frustrating. Good luck.
The leather upper needs to be maintained properly without moisture so keep that little silicone packet that comes with the box. If the sole comes loose , use Shoe Goo.
It's the quality of leather that's not great. Even the very expensive brands. The leather is bonded leather that peels off. Have had the same problem for a few years. I don't spend on expensive brands because they are all the same now.
It cost a lots of cash to have a shoe last made and handmade shoes, but that maybe what you will need to do, otherwise only buy cheap shoes and that way you won't feel so bad.
