Here is a project that I did using wine bottles and chalk paint.
Use a spray paint with primer in it or prime first and than you
can use acrylic craft paints.
There is paint specifically for glass by Lefranc & Bourgeois that comes in Transparent and Opaque colors. Mine are brush on but you can check your local art store to see if they have a spray version.

Check out Unicorn Spit...it is a stain and glaze. Can be used on glass/wood/plastic/metal...great stuff!! Prep your bottles with Modge Podge sealer.
