If you need to hang a picture anywhere that doesn't have a stud, you are best to purchase wall plugs from the hardware store. These go into the Sheetrock to provide an anchor for the screw(s) that you use to hang the picture. I would use one screw for a smaller/lighter picture two or three for a large picture with glass (heavy). If using more than one screw, use a level to mark where the plugs should go

Take a large piece of craft paper the size of the area where you are putting the pictures and arrange the pictures on the paper (lay it flat on the floor to do this). Once you like the arrangement, trace them on the craft paper and tack the craft paper the wall. Place the real pictures over the tracing and attach to the wall with picture hangers. After all of the pictures have been hung, remove the craft paper.

Use gorilla hooks! Those things are great. I hang all my pictures up using them. They come in different sizes for heavier frames.
