What is the name of this style vintage quilt?

I thought at first that this was a crazy quilt but although it has all different fabrics in it, it has a pattern so I don't think so. It doesn't have any batting in it and it looks handmade.

Grrr....hit the wrong key on the keyboard! :) Hi AnnMarie! At the first glance of this beautiful throw I thought "Pig in a Poke". Do you have this pic on FB? I can share it with some of my quilter friends (Amish country here) and see what they say.

It's Square in a square. Made "scrappy" by all the different fabrics.

Send a photo to Jenny at Missouri Star Quilt Co. If she doesn't know, she will find out! She is awesome and her quilt company, store and tutorials are amazing!

The piecing pattern is the Square-in-a-square. You mention that there is no batting which, in a vintage/antique quilt, means it was made to be a summer quilt. A summer quilt is typically only two layers: the top and the backing. The fabrics that I can see in the photo, make me think this is from the late 1950s thru the 1960s.
