What to do with Ikea wine racks

by Renep
These wine racks can be hung vertically as intended for wine bottles, but the spaces do not accommodate our red wines. Can also be hung horizontal for plants or ?? I would appreciate ideas.

Numerous ideas come to mind seeing these very industrial designs. First idea for better use other than wine bottle holders would be to use them as if attached to ceiling and use as hanging items from plants or lights anything that would fit with your decorating style. Another choice would be to use on the back of any door for hanging various items from kitchen towels to robes in the bathroom. Use them to stuff plastic grocery bags into for space saving ideas. Attach to any wall and hang S hooks from to further expand hanging space for sorts of things from hats and wet gloves at back or front entryways. Leeches for dog walking, keys, hang umbrellas with strings for items one needs when walking out the door. Think about if you painted them how you could use them if a completely different color and still do all the above suggestions in a color scheme. My ideas could fill pages I can see them useful near a desk to hold odds and ends. As a gardener, I could see them being used for any number of hanging tools to hanging plants as mentioned to using as herb drying rack. There are by far many smarter people on here who will come up with even far better ideas, but I thought since no one answered you yet I'd submit an idea or two to get you started thinking. Great question for a greatly interesting item. Good Luck.

Thank you - - you are full of ideas! ! ! Some would work, but maybe from the picture, one cannot see that they are not 'hooks' per se - - or else I am missing some of your ideas :( Keep 'em coming ! ! !

@Renep I have two as well. I have tried for towels but holes are too small for my bath size towels.

I would spray paint them and turn them sideways. Stick 'em in the bathroom for a nice way to present rolled up bath towels @Renep

I use it for storing (rolled up) dish drying mats, but rolling pins or guest towels also come to mind!

If you have two, they could be supports for small shelves in a pantry or bathroom.

Mount underneath the kitchen cabinet. Store oil, condiments, glass bottles of the correct size in them. Mary V. Huse on FB

I turned one on its side and installed it on the pantry wall as a plastic grocery bag dispenser

I also have two of these just lying around. My plan when I get around to it, is to attach them to some old barn wood, making them more of a centerpiece and use them for their intended use.

@Jolene Hamby That gave me some inspiration. I just installed a new kitchen and still have stuff that I can't fit back into the drawers in the new configuration. Perhaps I will install another wine rack in the pantry for big items like rolling pin and maybe BBQ tools that take up so much drawer space. Thanks for the idea

I did it. Works great in the kitchen for rolled up dish towels and frees up drawer or cabinet space, and did I say it looks good too?
