i have a space from floor to ceiling i want to cover with something that is easy to remove and replace so if needed i can get to my hot water tank without tearing anything up

Is the tank in a corner, or where is it? You could make room dividers to go around it with casters on them to make them easily moveable. You could make a frame on the ceiling the size you need and mount dowels to hold sheets that would hang to the floor for attractive draping and easy removal.
a screen, a louvered door, a curtain, a bamboo blind... Just make sure you have enough clearance to prevent a fire if it is gas powered. I have a curtain in front of mine.
Buy a room divider track (like they use in the ER) and hang pretty sheets that coordinate with your bedroom linens.
hang a circular shower curtain rod and coordinate the shower curtain to the decor of your bedroom
How about a tri-fold screen and a old window hanging down with frosted glass panes?
