When you have a ceiling fan in the living room should it have lights?

    I would want at least a 60W bulb because you probably have lamps throughout the room

    Mine does, and though I don't use the lights often, they come in very handy when you have company or are trying to see if you missed any spots when you dusted and vacuumed. LOL!!

    its a personal preference as well as a logistics one...my ceiling was never wired for a fixture.

    Only if you need them, older fans your brought the light kits seperately.

    Not necessarily. There are lighting kits you can buy that will attach to the fan. It all depends upon if you like overhead lighting.

    I am yes on lights on fans. I prefer light kit with a glass shade that prevents you from seeing the bulb and provides more ambient light. You can also get down facing light kits if you prefer.
