With all of the new LED bulbs how do you know what to buy?

Go with the lumens, not the watts. The higher the lumens the more light the bulb produces.
That's what my local electrician has told me.

  yes, I got that at the Home Depot they have a display of bulbs at bright , soft, sunlight and one other "light". So I should compare lumens to one of them. And select the one. I like best ??
