Quick and Easy Block Decor

Still going through my craft closet. Still using, recycling or tossing whatever I come across before I buy any new anything. I came across half a dozen of these 2" wood blocks and figured I could come up with something. So I did.

The blocks were white. The first thing I did was give them a couple of coats of black chalk paint. You may want to distress just the edges. If so, just paint the edges only to save time and paint. I knew I was going to distress the edges and sides so I painted them completely black.

Next I painted them white with white chalk paint. This totally confused my husband. 😁 He understood when I was done, but he was baffled that I would paint white blocks black then repaint them white. But we know why I did it!

Sand all edges and lightly sand all the surfa

After the paint dried, I lightly sanded them. I sanded a little more on the edges than the surface.

I cut the word HOME with my cricut. This can certainly be done freehand, too.

Then I added the letters to the blocks and added the blocks to my shelf. Simple, quick and cute. Thanks for looking. 😘
