I've found these super cool brick molds at a flea market and bought a few to do fun things with.

You could use any old box tho, it doesn't have to be these brick molds. But, you can find these molds on Etsy 😁

This is a super easy way to add some charm to a plain box 🥰

Before shot

These brick molds are made of an extremely dense wood

I wanted to add decorative feet but Tltrying to get the little nails in the wood is impossible..so...super glue to the rescue!

Flip the mold over so that the bottom is facing up.

Working with one corner at a time, apply super glue to the very corner.

Fit the foot on and then apply more super glue to the edge and in the holes where the nails should go (only apply glue to the bottom, you don't want to see it elsewhere)

The edges of the mold aren't completely square, as a result, the corners of the feet stick out a bit.

For the sides, I went with a Rice Paper from Redesign With Prima. These rice papers are brand new products, just came out a few months ago. They are like a tissue paper but don't tear as easily. Redesign With Prima also makes Decoupage Tissue Papers which are more like a fabric, extremely durable and thicker than the rice papers.

You'll also need a

*Waterbased topcoat

*220 or 320 grit sandpaper

*A small detail paintbrush

*Scissors

Cut your rice paper to fit. It's ok to overlap the edges, we'll clean that up later on.

Turn the mold onto it's side and apply the sealer to the middle section.

I like to use Frenchic Finishing Coat not just for sealing my painted furniture, but for decoupage as well. It works extremely well for this project

Brush it all over making sure to get the edges well. You don't need a lot, just enough for a thin layer

Lay the rice paper down, smoothing it out as you go. Don't press too hard, as the paper gets wet, it can be torn a bit more easily. Really press it down in the crease next to the metal bracket

Once it's dry, take 220 or 320 grit sandpaper and sand the edges to release the extra paper.

Do this for each side that the paper is overlapping

You'll see that you're left with a somewhat frayed edge

Out a very little amount of sealer on your brush and brush over the edges. This helps blend in any frayed edges

Repeat on the other side

Then enjoy 😁

Check out those little feet 😍 Amazon has some great designs!

Remember, you can use any old box, I just love the extra detail on the inside with a random word ♥️

Redesign With Prima makes many different designs for their Rice Papers

I absolutely love these rice papers! The deisgn that used is called Botanical Sonata
