My favorite for Gift-Giving is a QUILT! Giving a Quilt is extra special and always filled with Love...But Many will tell you that Making Quilts is Super Labor Intensive, Take Hours to Create, and are Difficult to Master...

Here's the Simple Response...NO!

Hello Quilts Constructed with 6 Inch Squares - Easy, Fast, Fun, and Simply Fabulous!

Here are Piles of 6 Inch Squares all cut and ready for making the Quilt.

(The dimensions of each square is 6 1/2 inch x 6 1/2 inch - the added 1/2 inch is for the seams to connect the squares together, creating a 6 inch square.)

Follow Along with the 10 Steps to Making a Beautiful Baby Quilt:

All the Fabrics Used are Cotton Flannel - Soft and Easy to Work With.

The different fabric patterns create the design and tell the story of the quilt.

The batting is Cotton. All Natural.

Size of the Baby Quilt:

Each Row has 6 Squares...8 Rows Total.

Dimensions: 48 inches wide and 50 inches long.

Step 1: Cutting the Squares.

For this Quilt Project to Make it Super Fast, You have already cut the squares using a Rotary Cutter...Check out the How-To Cutting Post on Hometalk Here.

Step 2: Lay Out the Quilt Top Pattern.

On a Large Table, lay out Your Design with the Squares. Patterns in Zig Zags...Lights Against Darks...Alternating Patterns in Rows...Have Fun!

Step 3: The Quilt Back.

The Quilt Back is one piece of Flannel Fabric...45 Inches Wide and 50 inches Long - The Back will wrap to the Front to Create a Border.

Step 4: Sew 6 Squares Together to Create Each Row.

There will be 8 rows total for this Baby Quilt.

First Row is Done...7 more to go.

Step 5: Lay out the Rows on a table to finalize the Quilt Pattern.

Once the Rows are Complete...Lay the rows on the Table and Review the Masterpiece. This is the Opportunity to Switch it Up...Move Rows Around...Until it's Just Right.

Step 6: Sew the 8 Rows Together to Create the Quilt Top.

Here's the finished Baby Quilt Top. It's Definitely One of a Kind.

Step 7: Make the Quilt Sandwich to Put it All Together...

Bottom Layer is the Back of the Quilt.

Middle Layer is Cotton Batting (45 inches x 60 inches). Amazon LINK.

Top Layer is the Quilt Top.

Step 8: Wrap the Back Fabric to the Quilt Top creating a Border all around the Quilt...Pin in Place.

Step 9: Sew the Border Edging to Secure to the Quilt Top.

Step 10: Last Step..."Stitch-in-the-Ditch".

Top Stitch Where the Quilt Squares Meet...this keeps the Quilt Sandwich from Shifting...it is the "Quilting" process.

So Cute! (3 Hours from Start to Finish)

Now for Big Brother's Quilt - With time to spare, you can create a special quilt for the New Big Brother. Select Fabric Patterns that are Unique and Loved by the Big Brother. The Quilt Steps are the Same as the Baby Quilt...but wait till you see how different the Finished Quilt is!

Did you use a regular sewing machine or a quilting machine for this. I want to try this if I can use a regular machine.
