Are you a Rae Dunn fan? I love the simplicity of her wares. So does a good customer of mine who purchased this painted magazine rack and asked for it to be customized with Rae Dunn font with the word Read on both ends to match her bread box she recently purchased from me that said BREAD.
The solid wood magazine rack was updated from the light wood finish and stenciled country designs. The stenciled areas were power sanded smooth. Then all was wiped clean ready to paint.
I put out a poll on my Instagram page to see which color to paint it but it was split 50/50, no help there :)

I chose to go with Rustoleum's 2X cover spray in the gorgeous color seaside. Many light coats were sprayed in a well ventilated area turning after each side was covered. I should mention I start with the project upside down to get the undersides then flip over.

Printing out the font in the appropriate size from my computer allows it to be transferred via pencil onto the well dried magazine rack ends.
Using a Sharpie oil paint pen the word was then made permanent and this beautiful solid wood piece is now a show stopper in my customers home.
