Rae Dunn Inspired Storage Canisters

My friend was getting rid of some white ceramic canisters and when I saw them I immediately thought...Rae Dunn! I love Rae Dunn and I knew I could use that look to make some cute craft storage.

They were already in perfect condition. They had been in my car for a few days so I washed and dried them before getting started.

I used the JP Skinny font in my Silhouette Design space and created some quirky text for each canister. I know they are terrible labels if I want to actually know what is stored in each one but I wanted funny instead of practical. I am using them only for sewing supplies so I will know what is in them.

I did make one mistake. I could have cut the pieces over again but I decided they still looked nice so I kept the original labels.

Inside Design space I made the words longer by stretching out the text. This created thicker letters. If you have seen the Rae Dunn pieces the text is really skinny. It bummed me out a little bit but I still liked them enough to keep them.

This is after they were cut. Then I added transfer tape to the top of each word so they would be easier to adhere to the canister.

Once it is where you like it, remove the transfer tape. Then you are left with some great designs.

That is all there is to it. I added my supplies and found them a home.

I really like them a lot. If you like this project you will probably like all of the projects I have on my blog. Sign up for my email/newsletter and gain access to my free resource library full of printables and free cut files that you can download at any time.
