Those boxes from the toys and gifts that your kids receive each special occasion are great materials for diys. I'm not saying you should hoard and keep all of them. I do not do that myself because I cannot stand clutter and I don't like having too many unnecessary stuff.

Keep some sturdy boxes for your future projects. And one of them should be this adorable hair tie organizer.

If you have daughters like me and you want to organize their hair accessories in an adorable way, then I have the perfect repurposed diy for you.
Find a sturdy box.
Measure about 6 inches from the bottom of the box then begin to draw ice cream cones and popsicles on each side of the box. Allow some gap in between the popsicles and ice cream cones.
Use an X-acto knife to cut away the outline on top of the 6 inch height of the box.
Now, you have to prime. Paint the cut box white to prepare it for the other colors.
Once dry, paint the ice cream and popsicle designs on the box with all the fun colors you like. You can go bright or go pastel. You will need to paint two coats. make sure to dry the first coat before applying the second coat.

You can check out the link below if you want a more detailed tutorial from my blog.
Once you've applied the second coat, dry it thoroughly and you are all set.
Loop the hair ties in between the ice cream scoops and popsicles. You can place the hair brushes at the center.
Repurposing just takes a little creativity and now you have your hair tie organizer from a used box. Sweet!
