I have a lot rocks/pebbles and I wanted to do something with them but not just paint them or make an animal sculpture, I have done that in the past, I wanted something different. I knew I wanted to paint them but wasn't sure what else to do with them. I thought I would get some ideas off the web and I did!
This is what I made with some rocks and wood!
I cleaned the rocks first before painting.
I used acrylic and spray paint on the rocks and wood pieces. I love that satin sea glass paint!icon I sealed the wood pieces with a clear coat of spray paint.
Loctite instant (clear) was my choice of adhesive for this project. It does instantly grab so no slipping.icon
I was gifted this new crafting tool and couldn't stop playing with it!
The rocks painted in various colors along with some simple designs with the new tool. Still need practice with the different needles and squeezing the container. I will show more of the tool on another project with some of these rocks.icon
I painted the wood squares and the wood finials. Let dry.
Next...
I glued the rocks to the wood pieces and finished!
This was the first set I made and they are soooo cute!!icon Now add some candles for light at the dinner table or by the bed or wherever you want!
I will be buying some new candles to go with the others I made!
I really love these and I made more in the colors that are pictured above. These took about an hour and a half to make, if you paint a design on them it will take longer of course. All the materials for this project you can get at a craft store and most at a dollar store or Walmart. They don't have to be painted, can be left natural!icon
All ready for a date night!
Another set! I will need to buy some silver candles for this set.
Still playing with my new toy!icon

Thanks for looking and I welcome all comments and questions!
Happy Holidays to all!!icon
UPDATE : Hi everyone wondering about my new toy, the Precision Tool, I did the peacock last night after so many asked about this new tool. It took about 2 hours to do and I'm still practicing. I will post this project today and give a review of the tool too! Thanks for asking!icon

What is the new toy you're referring to ? You made such cute designs . You can't (well, you can but you shouldnt haha) keep fellow DIYers in suspense

  • Paula Paula on Dec 21, 2017

why did you use both a bottled paint and a spray paint for the colors? couldn't you have just used one?

Just a thought, but those are pretty 'tippy' looking candle holders. Would a larger base be a good idea?

Beautiful and unique one of a kind candle holders. What a great gift for a teacher, relative or friend. These can be made in staggering heights to place on a mantle with some festive red, green and white candles. Thanks for sharing your idea. Merry Christmas.
