Simple Wall Sconce Update

We found some very inexpensive wall sconces on amazon. However, they were only available in white, so I decided to give them a quick face lift to achieve the look we wanted.

Before

Here is the before. Now, don’t get me wrong, the white is beautiful but it’s not exactly the look we were going for.

I decided to use rub n buff in ‘antique gold’ to change our sconces from white to gold.

Before you start, make sure you mix the product in the tube by squishing it with your fingers with the lid on.

Next, I just squeezed a decent amount of rub and buff onto a paper plate and found an old sock to help apply.

the packaging says you can use your fingers, but I prefer using a sock so my fingers don’t get covered in gold.

Scoop a small amount onto your finger.

Then start rubbing!

I find that if you need to apply a second coat or touch up any areas it works best if you wait a good amount of time in between each coat so that you don’t accidentally pull off your first coat. Essentially let each coat dry before trying to reapply.

(any other rub n buffers with know what I’m talking about 😂)

Ta da!

All finished. In only roughly 5 minutes I was able to change these beautiful sconces into exactly what Nate and I were hoping for.
