Went into hubby’s shop this morning looking for a particular item that I knew was in my stash. Well, going through the box, I first found this porcelain base. I had forgotten I even had this since I have had it for years. I think it had previously been part of a vanity mirror that screwed into this base but I never had the mirror part though.

Then a few minutes later, I found this rose colored candle globe. It was dusty but I tried it inside the base and it fit like a glove. 😳 Brought both of the items into the house and scrubbed them both in a sudsy bath. Then rinsed them so they could dry.

When I was in my pillar candle making mode previously, I remembered I had this candle in a box with other odd candles. I love spiraled candles and bought this one at a thrift store for a quarter even though it has spots on it.

I decided to cut the candle in half after I painted the outside white to cover the spots. After it dried, I put the candle into the globe. Remembered I had some ribbon that would coordinate with the flowers on the base. I cut two lengths of ribbon and tied a simple bow onto the base. This is the final look.

I put a $2.00 cost for the project because I had the two major pieces for so long that I couldn’t remember how much I had spent for them. I hope this inspires fellow Hometalkers to go through their stash and see something crying to be created! Let me know what you think. Would love for you Hometalkers to check out my other projects and see what I have done with more unusual items.
