I have a collection of tea cups and saucers. I don't want them to always sit in the cabinet and occasionally get used. I challenge myself to use them in different ways so that I can enjoy them year around. I have made them into planters, bird feeders, and more. Today I turned one into a wall sconce.
Start with a tea cup and saucer of your choice. Mine is from a thrift store.
I placed hot glue on the side of the tea cup as I wanted mine to be temporary but you could use E6000.
I placed the glued side on the saucer and let it cool (or dry completely if using a permanent adhesive).
Here is what it looked like after it was cool.
On the back of the saucer I needed a way to hang the teacup and saucer up. I hot glued on a pop tab - again you could use a permanent adhesive.
I placed a battery operated tealight inside.
I didn't glue it in, as I wanted to be able to change it out if I needed.
I hung it on the wall using a command hook. Now I have a temporary wall sconce to fill a space that needed something.
