    I read the article and loved it! Those who have not made a quilt cannot imagine the work that goes into making one. I have made a few...just enough to know it is not for me. What a lot of people do not realize is that quilts originated from people using their scrap fabric to piece together coverings for their beds...it was a way to get warmth, not beauty. I have a couple of "depression era" quilts that have no pattern, but are just random pieces stitched together and the backing is made of feed sacks...with the writing still visible on them! These were made out of need.

    I have to admit it was a real eye-opener for me, after the research. I now have a better understanding of it and certainly a deep appreciation for those with such talent, such as Paula. Hometipster.com is growing and we are about to add more categories, such as Crafts and Hobbies, which will be wonderful as I love to write about this type of thing.
