Thrift Store Candlestick Makeover

I was out thrift shopping, and I saw two candlesticks that were the shape of the wooden ones that I had seen in stores. They were about $1 each.
The candlesticks were ceramic, but that does not matter because I am going to paint them.  Also, it doesn’t matter if they are not wood like the ones in the store because after you chalk paint the candlesticks, they will look like wood.
I cleaned the candlesticks and painted them with two coats of light blue chalk paint. After I painted them, I slightly distressed them with a fine sanding block.
I had purchased these beautiful old earrings and pins that look vintage at the thrift store knowing that I would use them for a project one day. I glued the jewelry to the candlestick with hot glue.
I love that you can't tell these use to be ceramic animal print candlesticks and now they are beautiful candlesticks to dress up your home with. You can see this and more projects on my blog. http://www.savvyapron.com/thrift-store-candlestick-makeover-tutorial/
