Treasure Hunting With Maureen O'Boyle

Maureen O’Boyle, anchor on WBTV-3 in Charlotte, N.C., and former anchor on Extra enjoys designing and decorating her home with thrift store and resale finds whenever she can. In this interview, she shares her design philosophy and love of finding those unique treasures that make her home her own.
Q: Are there any design principles that you follow or do you tend to go with more of your own personal aesthetic?
A: I guess I follow my mother’s sense of design. She is a natural. Her philosophy is simple: Find things you love that make you happy and surround yourself with them. So that is what I do. I use colors that make me happy, I accentuate artwork that I have a history with and make it my central focus on a wall. So it’s my mom’s aesthetic I would say I’ve learned from.
