You know those not so cute oven burner covers (in my opinion of course) that you can find at the Dollar Tree? Turn them into these adorable magnetic photo frames!! Love this project? You can buy your own by clicking the link below. Just so you know, Hometalk may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.
To BUY this cool wall hanging, click here! Materials Needed: Stove Burner Cover (pay $1 at Dollar Tree for 2) Ribbon - about 4" long (for hanging) Scrapbook Paper Glue Stick Sea Grass Rope (get can some on Amazon) Hot Glue Gun Magnets
Just trace the circle on a piece of 12x12" scrapbook paper. Cut out the circle - it doesn't have to be perfect since we are covering the border. Before you glue on the paper, use a hot glue gun and glue the ribbon onto the tin cover. When that is dry, smear the tin cover with glue from a glue stick, and rub the paper on it - be sure it is smooth with no wrinkles or air bubbles. I sometimes need to use an exacto knife and trim off any edges of paper that might not be centered perfectly and are hanging off of the edge a bit.
You need to get your hot glue gun and glue on some thin white ribbon (about 4" long) that you will use to hang your magnetic board when it is done. Find a sheet of scrapbook paper that you'd like the background of your magnetic board to be. Then simply trace the stove cover on the 12x12" scrapbook paper. Cut out the circle - it doesn't have to be perfect since we are covering the edge with sea grass rope.
Use your glue stick and smear it all over the back of the scrapbook paper. Line up the paper to the edge of the stove cover and smooth the paper so that there are no wrinkles or air bubbles.
Then cut the length of sea grass rope that will become the border of the oven cover. The larger 10" covers need about 31" of sea grass rope. Use your hot glue gun and glue the sea grass rope down every few inches. This gives it a nice clean and finished look - and can cover up any imperfect cutting of the scrapbook paper. Glue the rope down all the way around the edge and trim it so that it fits nice and tight so that the seam is not noticeable.
To BUY this cool wall hanging, click here! Then you need to select a photo to now display on your magnetic photo frame! The larger burner covers will hold up to a 5x7" photo. I have also laminated some inspirational messages and added those to the boards. Last, you'll need some magnets to attach your photo to the board. I used flat glass marbles and painted the flat side with glitter nail polish. I then glued on a small rare earth magnet.
I have a wide variety of these that come with some inspirational messages for sale over in my Etsy Shop called Magnet Menagerie ! (for just $12.99 + free shipping!)
There are endless design ideas you could do with this project! Not to mention the personal photo collages you could display!
I have a cute frame I did for Mother's Day too - that uses Scrabble Tiles. Check that one out over here
What inspirational message would you love to see on one of the magnetic photo frames? You can easily remove the inspirational message and just put up your favorite photo as well!

Tara Talley on Feb 16, 20173-M has a spray on glue that would be so easy for this. I have used it for so many different things. I actually replaced the headliner in my 81 Camaro with it and it lasted for years! Easy to use, almost no smoothing issues at all!
