Hey everybody! Today we are going to coat a Vase with Unicorn SPiT!
First, all you need is Acrylic Gloss Sealer, Unicorn SPiT, washi tape, some fake flowers, and diamond floral fillers.
Then, proceed to fill the Vase up half way, that way you can get an estimate of where you will be putting the washing tape.
Proceed to put washi tape over a small section where the fillers are visible. So when we put on the SPiT and remove the washi tape, the pretty fillers inside will be visible through the paint. Kind of like a Peek a Boo effect.
I chose 3 colors for this, turquoise, black, and white.
Since I wanted the white for the base, I sprayed the Vase with a bit of water and made sure I coated it all evenly by spreading it a bit with a brush. The water helps the SPiT to really move and coat the whole surface. Now, I dropped a few bits of black on and did this with the turquoise without the water this time. I want to create this sponge like effect.
So I take the paper that the Vase is under and simply press it into the Vase. And now I have this really cool mixed color effect. It reminds me of abstract art, and I love how the paint literally flowed all over the vase!
Now, I take an x-acto knife and cut off the washi tape. Revealing the inside of the Vase which I filled with the fillers to really show off the peek a boo center. To make the edges of the see through clean and straight, I took a damp paper towel and lightly rubbed the edges.
Now for this part I took the sealer, which is a gloss, and sprayed it over the SPiT part and if I got it on the non SPiT part I wiped with a wet napkin. Then I simply added fake flowers to the Vase in colors I believed went with the Unicorn SPiT I used.
Voila!
An artistic Unicorn SPiT Vase with decorative fillers peeking out :D
