Easy
Have you ever made something, and just felt, that it was missing something? This was one of my first cloth rag wreaths. I loved the pretty colors, but, it just didn't stand out. I hung it on one of my doors and just kept looking at it, until I figured out what I wanted to do with it.
Pretty pinks and blues just didn't work.
I've been known to take something completely apart and start over, if dissatisfied with a project. So I looked at this for a couple of weeks until I figured out what I wanted to do.
I pulled out my sorted fabrics
I keep leftover sections of fabric in plastic bags, sorted, so that I can pull them out at times like this. Fat quarters are a way to pull in additional colors, or bandanas that catch your eye if you haven't horded/saved fabrics. I even cut up old clothes if I like a fabric. I keep them together in a basket for just this type of project.
leftover fabrics
I keep strips I have already cut or torn, bits and pieces of leftover fabric.
With some pretty strips added
THIS was the look I wanted. It is intended for a bedroom door, and it finally looked the way I wanted it to. Not so washed out looking now!
Before
Before I added anything.
After
A totally different look without redoing the whole thing. I especially loved how it pulled out the pretty colors I had originally chosen. Sometimes I just need to fiddle with something until I get what I want from it. I may add flowers or seasonal add-on as I want to. These wreaths are so easy to modify, add to, and play with!
