Hanging Planter
I think I have officially run out of space for my plants. So off to hanging them from the ceiling I go. The beautiful modern planters I wanted were out of my budget, so I updated these that I found on Amazon.
These were beautiful but didn’t match my home decor.
The first thing I had to do was remove the jute rope. It was pretty straight forward and simple to cut.
You have to cut it from the inside (above the knot).
I used rub and buff (color: antique gold) and a felt brush to apply.
I quickly realized that I would be able to do this alot faster if I taped the border.
I also bought the chains from amazon. They came with little S hooks to attach to pots with holes. To get the rub and buff on was easy! I put a bit of the rub and buff on scrap material then dipped my finger in it. (Wear gloves!)
Rubbed my fingers together.
And rubbed it on!
Here it is all complete.
I had to open one side of the hook a little bit to get it to turn into the pot. Needle nose pliers helped me do this.
The pliers also made it easy to grip the hook and put into the hole on the side of the pot.
Once in the pot, I squeezed it tight around the pot.
I used a stud finder, drilled a hole and screwed these eye screws into place. I have plaster ceiling so some of the ceiling did crumble. I applied spackle and painted over it.
This was an afterthought but I used a foam brush to paint the eye screw with the rub and buff as well.

And now!
It fits this space perfectly in my newly renovated kitchen. I share my journey of renovating the kitchen and other home projects on Instagram so make sure to check it out!
