This Vaseline paint technique is easy and gives a great distressed look I did this project because I had the vaseline, paint, dark wax!

So let’s get started

This is the Dollar Tree glass I used

Next I spray painted the glass outside all over it and let dry

Next I got out my vaseline, petroleum jelly

This is super easy you use your finger and apply in random spots you’d like the dark to show though . I recommend edges, rim and curves

Next use a paint you like I used a cream. Now paint all over the cup

Let dry, you'll notice the black peeking through where you put vaseline

Second coat of paint

I’m always in a hurry so use the blow dryer to help dry it quicker

Now you can see here how the paint will not stick where the vaseline ones and that’s what you want

Now take a paper towel or rag and wipe it off all over. So all the spots with the Vaseline that the paint wasn’t sticking will come off

So this how it should look now if you need in a few more spots that you missed with vaseline then just use a piece of sandpaper lightly!

Now grab some dark wax. Apply all over

With a paper towel or rag. A trick if you don’t already have wax you could make it by adding brown paint to the vaseline not to much vaseline or it will stay greasy!

What do you think? Aged to perfection?

I love it, see how I used it in my décor

Just as cute as can be!

Add a bunny and look how fantastic for my Easter vignette!
