Oh how I love me a good farmhouse update and this vintage silverware chest is no exception. I have done a few in the past and other one of a kind home décor pieces you can find FREE tutorials on my BLOG!
I love silverware chests, they are no popular but I am trying to give them a comeback. I think they look so pretty sitting on a side board at a family function holding cutlery proudly then tucked away in a drawer or cupboard when not in use.
I also love farmhouse finishes and this one was ready. I used a new warm white from Fusion Mineral Paint called goddess ashwaganda. This was just a wee sample pot perfect for this project. As you see two coats were applied, bottom is one coat and the top is the second going on.more detailed tutorial can be found at https://creativemoments10.blogspot.com/2019/07/vintage-silverware-chest-in-goddess.html
Once dry, the edges were distressed to reveal that original wood stain and add to the rustic farmhouse country feel. Fusion's gorgeous ageing wax was added to to further the farmhouse feel, add age and bring out the details in this simple design.
Just look at how pretty it is displaying its silver wares ;)
And then just as easy it is closed and can be left out for a pretty piece of decor or slipped away till the next event; like Christmas which is coming soon! It is for sale on my Etsy store too.
