As do most of my projects, this one begins on my morning walk. This sad, very old (wires were disintergrating with every touch) overhead light was laying curbside, waiting for trash pick up. What is a person supposed to do?
Some see trash, all I could saw was a beautiful candelabra. And this is what happened...
I gathered my materials, which included wire cutters, sand paper, paint, glue, glass tea lite holders, glue.
First, I turned my attention to the wiring, which I carefully removed and discarded. Then I lightly sanded and glued the two light sockets back in place and gave the whole thing a nice fresh coat of ivory paint.
I then dry brushed a little pink and green highlights to bring out the beautiful scroll work on the arms and base. I also decided that I wanted to put feet on the base, so it wouldn't scratch any surface it was put on, so I glued on 4 wooden balls to the underside of the base.
Finally I glued two tea lite cups to the two arms and a glass bobble in the center. And there you have it!
Happy crafting everyone.
