This outside lantern cleaned up really well with nice glass sides. But I wanted frosted glass windows so I could use it inside with Christmas lights.
After cleaning I filled the bottom of the lantern with pretty marbles and sea glass and also a string of white Christmas lights.
I definitely had to figure out how to put frosted glass in this lantern so the lights would glow softly and not look like this.
I crumpled up Dollar Store wax paper tightly for each glass panel, then glued each piece in with Mod Podge. THIS is the frosted glass look I had pictured when I started this project.
This pretty lantern sits on my baker's rack and is a nice addition to my decor all year long. See how the wax paper softens the lights' glow? Wonderful!
Here's the bakers' rack all glammed up for last Christmas. I LOVE how this frosted glass lantern project turned out! It was inexpensive and easy and guess what? I have another outside lantern to restyle with wax paper and bring it inside. Win win!
