Turn a Lazy Susan Into a Beautiful Serving Tray

This lazy susan was less than $10. It's pretty basic and functional but not all that much to look at. I gave it a little makeover and now it's a focal point on the kitchen table. Take a look at how I updated this lazy susan and learn how to make your own.

I started by lightly sanding the wood lazy susan to create a rough surface that they paint would stick to. Then I sprayed a few even coats of chalkboard spray paint and let it dry completely.

Once the chalkboard paint was dry, i used a piece of chalk to season the board. I just rubbed chalk all over it then erased it. This helps prepare the chalkboard to be used.

Once that part is done, the chalkboard lazy susan is ready to use. My family and I like to have tea in the evening so I thought I would make a tea time serving tray first. I used chalk and then went over the words with chalk markers to add some color.

This chalkboard lazy susan is a beautiful focal point. I love that I can easily erase the words and update it to create a cheese tray, ice cream sundae topping station or whatever I want!
