3D Art

I got a gorgeous frame in the mail not too long ago, and it inspired me to get a little creative! I wanted a stand out piece, without the standout price. So, I DIY'ed a 3D piece of artwork that is simple enough, ANYONE can do it! I put $5 out of pocket into this entire project because I used materials I had laying around the house, but you would never know it!

First, I grabbed my frame and measured my poster board. I wanted something cheap, so I went with the cheapest base I could think of.

Next, I grabbed some tile adhesive because I couldn't find any caulking in the garage. I also couldn't find a spreader, so I literally grabbed an old shovel and thought "why not?!"

I then took small amounts of the adhesive and globbed it onto the poster board. I then began to spread it out in weird and fun patterns. Be random, have fun with it!

It should look a little something like this throughout the process. I made it thicker in some areas and thinner in others. I wanted it to be totally random. Let this dry completely before moving on.

I grabbed a light paint color I had from a sample when we painted our walls. I used this as a base coat all over to cover any imperfections.

One my base coat dried completely, I added my pops of color. I started with this pretty blue.

And then I added a nice shade of brown.

Once it was completely dry, I cut it to size.

I then framed it.

And finally, I displayed it!
