For the longest time my roommates and I could not figure out what to do with the ugly wallpaper-ripping-off-the-not-quite-a-wall separator thing in our living room. It just made the room feel too open and not lived in. We couldn't quite remove the wallpaper being that we are renters, so I decided to do the next best thing...attempt to cover it up!
Here's the culprit, uglying up our living room.
Step 1: Buy your gallery wall frames
I took a quick trip to my local dollar store and stocked up on cheap frames, and splurged a bit on a mirror
Step 2: Paint away the blah
I wanted the frames to look a little bit cohesive and not too boring, so I grabbed the leftover paints I could find in the apartment and gave some of the frames a quick makeover
Step 3: Experiment with what you can frame
I didn't exclusivey want pictures in the frames. So I looked around the house for what I could frame. That led to me to cutting up some lace, wrapping up some wheat with twine, and doing something with the inspirational quotes my roommate was collecting. My frames were ready.

Step 4: Assemble your layout on the floor
Before I was going to start nailing things into the wall I assembled and reasembled and reasembled again how it was going to look on the wall
Step 5: Hang fake frames on the wall
Again, still scared to commit to nailing things to the wall. So I took scrap material (aka an old shower curtain) and traced out the frames. I cut these up and taped the fake frames on the wall to make sure I liked how the gallery looked.
Step 6: Nail and Hang
And add some plants on top for good luckicon
Step 7: Sit back and relax
We like it very much icon
