Arrow Wall Hook Rack
I wanted to make a hook rack that would eventually be used for our Christmas stockings but didn't want to buy a regular plain hook rack. I found a really great wood arrow at the craft store that I paired with plywood, pine strips and inexpensive hooks to make a fabulous hook rack that will be perfect for Christmas stockings, tote bags, pet leashes, etc.!
The arrow was inexpensive but like most blank wooden pieces from the craft store, it is made from wood that isn't of great quality. I lightly sanded the wood, then applied a grayish-brown stain.
I also cut strips of pine measuring approximately 1x1 to use as trim then stained them in a golden oak color to use along the edges of the plywood.
I cut a piece of plywood a little larger than the arrow, sanded the edges, then painted it white.
I added the arrow to the plywood and secured everything in place using inexpensive metal hooks. The painted plywood base and stained trim would work well with any wood shape in the center for a fabulous, easy to make piece of art!
I added D-ring hangers to the back so I could mount the rack to the wall.
