Last year I got a round screen from the free pile at a garage sale and had so much fun transforming it into a "Fantasy" tree. I like to find my craft supplies at garage sales or thrift stores, but when I saw my local Kitchen Connection store had a three pack of splatter screens for $6.00, I had to buy them!

I always buy junk jewelry and have so much fun giving it new life!

Step One: Lay out the jewelry so you can decide on a design pluss you can draw the bottom where the screen will be cut away.

Finalize the design and take a photo with your phone so you know where to put the pieces when you are actually gluing them.

I used a multi strand bracelet for the branches and used gold paint along all the edges and where the junk jewelry is attached for a pretty background.

If you notice the "amazon basics" that is a silicone mat that hot glue doesn't stick to. Attach each piece of jewelry with a generous amount of hot glue if you have a silicone mat the glue will be flat on the back.

Remove the splatter screen handle with a Dremel.

Remove the screen along the edges of the tree and splatter screen edge cutting as close as possible.

After the screen was removed I covered all the edges of the splatter screen by wrapping them with old chain necklaces.

I got these necklaces in a jar of junk jewelry from Goodwill. No worries about the chains matching.

Here are some closeups of each section of tree.

No rhyme or reason for the groupings.

You see something different each time you look at it!

I like to mix the colors and types!

The trunk was a bracelet...doesn't it make a cool trunk?

I like how it turned out! You could use Grandmother's costume jewelry and make an heirloom.

That is beautiful! I just have one question. When gluing the pieces, what were you gluing them to if you removed the screen. A little confused 🤔

I think dollar tree has the splatter screens? I think I have seen other crafts made with them but this my absolute favorite!
