Create this beautiful wall hanging that also doubles as a bow holder. Follow this super easy tutorial to keep all of those tiny bows neatly organized!

Materials Needed

To create this lovely piece all you will need is a wooden dowel or something similar (I used a piece of bamboo) , cotton yarn and a pair of scissors.

Cut the Yarn

Next you will cut your yarn to your desired length. I used the length of my arms for ease of measurement. The pieces don’t need to be exact as you will be trimming off any excess yarn at the very end.

Attach the Rope

To attach the rope to your wooden dowel simply create a loop and pull the yarn through it. Since I was using a thinner yarn I decided to loop the yarn on in groups of three.

Braiding the Yarn

This is the fun part! You can get creative here and make your bow hanger as simple or as intricate as you like. The easiest way would be to simply braid a few pieces and secure them with a knot at the end. I decided to experiment a little with a few different knots and I love the look that it gives the piece. To neaten up the piece I trimmed the bottom in a “V” shape, but you could trim it straight across or leave it as is for a more rustic look.

Attach the bows

Finally it’s time to attach and display those pretty bows!

Thanks for sharing this great project.

it’s lovely! I’m inspired. When I make mine I think I will substitute butterflies for bows. I have a fondness for butterflies.

My niece's two girls just allowed mom to put bows in their hair. I think Aunt Denise better to work on this project!
