I've recently become a Designer with a new company called Chalk Couture. I've quickly amassed a team of over 100 excited members under me because the product speaks for itself. I like to do things that are quick, easy and straight to the point. I've never been a sign maker. I didn't have the time to learn any machines or new software just to spit out vinyl and then have to weed vinyl off whatever surface I wanted to work with. Being able to apply a sticky transfer to almost any surface and then spreading a chalk style past right over, has been life changing. I'm now able to make all kinds of decor in my existing growing business and give things a new look. To join my team "Down2Chalk" or purchase the transfers and pastes you will see here go to --> https://down2chalk.chalkcouture.com use Sponsor Code "down2chalk" to join my team.
Home Depot has the 18" Sanded Wooden Round perfect for mantel decor or to even make a tray out of with additional handles.
I've selected to use the Chalk Couture "gather" transfer and laid it out over the painted wood round. to purchase the transfer go here --> https://down2chalk.chalkcouture.com
For this design in using Chalk Couture Chalkology pastes in "Thai Teal", Mustard" & Elephant Gray. It's best to use larger squeegees to spread the past around more quickly and evenly. To purchase the pastes and squeegees go here --> https://down2chalk.chalkcouture.com
You'll need a tray for paint, several brushes, a super smaller brush for bleed corrections, Minwax Polycrylic matte clear wax (a spray gloss will work too) , Valspar Dark Stain Antiquing wax, Junk Monkey Paint Company "Antique Lace" , 120 grit Sanding block, scrap rag, clorox wipes, and water pan
Give your wooden round a nice coat or 2 with Junk Monkey Paint Company "Antique Lace." It's a chalk style paint so it goes on nice and thick and no need to sand or prime. You can purchase Junk Monkey Paint and browse thru their 40 current colors. Fall in love here --> http://bit.ly/shescraftytoo
Carefully remove the backing off the transfer. Be sure and save it because you will need to reapply the transfer back onto it when the transfer is washed and dried.
Lay out your Chalk Couture transfer as desired onto your wooden round after your Junk Monkey Paint "Antique" Lace has dried. Use your large Chalk couture Squeegee to remove any air pockets and smooth out your transfer to prevent any bleeding. Add some paste over the GATHER and spread over with the squegee. Try not to go outside the transfer. Spread the paste over smoothly and put excess back in your jar. Work quickly so the paste doesnt dry. Once you are finished, quickly pull up the transfer without stretching it and the end result should be a perfect "GATHER" word
Once your word is done, you can apply wax over and dry for awhile. Come back with antiqueing wax on the edges with a rag and wipe it on the edges to create an antique like like the picture. Here is the finished GATHER sign and look how beautiful it came out without using a machine etc. To purchase similar transfers and paste, be sure and head over to www.down2chalk.com and select to SHOP.
