Every month my bloggy friends and I participate in a monthly challenge where we pick a common item or theme. This month we picked chalkboard paint, so I decided to make some pretty large-scale quote art!
You can find chalkboard paint at your local hardware store or craft store. After painting and drying, season the chalkboard with some chalk.
Next part is the quote! Choose a quote that has meaning or significance to you. It can be anything! I like to freehand, so I sketched out my words and design with a piece of regular chalk. There are also transfer methods if you don't feel comfortable hand-lettering.
To finish it off, I traced over my sketch with a chalkboard paint pen which provides for a beautiful strong line. I really love how it turned out! It looks perfect hanging in my living room. I wish I could make more of these and give them away to friends!
If you are interested in the full tutorial and/or want to see what awesome chalkboard projects my bloggy friends made, be sure to head on over to the original post over on my blog here: http://www.dwellbeautiful.com/large-diy-chalkboard-wall-art-monthly-diy-challenge/. They made some gorgeous and creative projects! You don't wanna miss out.
