While deciding on something to work on after finishing up micro- garden care, I looked at pins on Pineterest and came across a couple playful snowmen painted on wood which was framed in a window. I also looked through a few of the Holiday projects here on Hometalk and found some nice projects with snowmen. Here is what I came up with in 2017 then improved upon.

The lights were added just prior to Christmas 2018 and the tree was redone. Follow through the rest of the project to see how this all came toghether.

The original Christmas tree was much too small. To make room for the lights the snowman's arm and side was re-worked and the tree made larger.

Having collected quite a few frames over the last couple years, then seeing that snowman painted on wood at Pinterest. It got me to thinking that some old picket boards I have might go nice inside a frame with a scene painted on it.

This is not the frame for this project but is to show how the wood was secured inside the frame. I used 3/8'' staples to secure the wood. There are other ways to secure the boards. I had the staple gun handy.

Many times when painting snowmen I simply freehand the shape and build him from ther. This time I used a bust outline from an art book by Susan Kelley that I purchased some time ago from Scheewe Publications. And built him up from there.

I gave the snowman a gloved right arm and based in the Christmas tree and fence post. I unintentionally deleted a photo showing how I outlined the snowman and lettering.

Ornaments were added to the tree and the fence post built up. Then to finish I added a Cardinal( he is very hard to see here). I glossed just the painted areas. I also spray painted the frame satin black.
