My grown daughter asked me to stencil an accent wall in her home.

Two things I knew:

  1. She would love something with florals
  2. It needed to be colorful

This is the stencil she chose. I found it on Amazon (linked here in my Amazon Shop)

When you search wall stencils there are so many to choose from!

As far as supplies I brought a bag of go to items as pictured.

Peep the aluminum foil? I use that in paint trays before pouring my paint so I can just toss the foil later and not have to wash the trays.

Foam rollers, spray adhesive, a small level, and painters tape along with shop towels were all used in this project.

My daughter chose the colors for this project. All latex paints in eggshell finish. I used three 4” foam rollers for the different colored flowers and a small foam brush for the greenery.

When stenciling I spray adhesive on the stencil to keep it in place and use a level to make sure it’s straight before painting on the pattern. The important thing is to use very little paint on the roller. I use the shop towels to wipe the excess paint off before applying the roller over the stencil pattern.

This prevents the pattern bleeding. Stenciling is NEVER perfect but once the pattern is repeated it tends to look like wallpaper!

This is the finished look. This took about 3 hours and my daughter was happy with final result.
