My home office has gone through a lot of changes since I designed it back in 2019. I used to work alone, I only had one desk, and video calls were infrequent (basically nonexistent).
I think you know where this is going…
Now, I share the office with my two kids. We added another desk (their 15-minute DIY homeschool desk) plus a craft table. And all of us are on multiple Zoom calls a day. As you can imagine, things started to look a little displaced.
We adjusted the layout to fit us all in, but the video calls? They looked like a hot mess. The people on the other end of the camera were usually treated to a background littered with school books, papers, and math problems messily scrawled on the giant whiteboard wall behind us.
Something had to change, and it definitely needed to make jumping on Zoom and looking professional a plug-and-play situation.
In this post, I’m going to show you how I created a home office accent wall that works as the perfect Zoom background, with no mess in sight.
