Decorating With Old Windows - A Quick and Easy Upcycle Project

I recently finished upcycling another one of the old windows I found at an estate sale. Such an easy, inexpensive project that makes big impact in your home!
Below is what the frame looked like when I brought it home. I knew right away it would look great hanging on my living room wall.
First thing I did was clean the window with TSP Substitute. Once dry, I taped off the glass, and gave it two coats of Varathane STAIN + POLY in "Kona" -- (Mostly because I already had it out for another project -- trying to work smarter, not harder.) :D
The stain looked great -- too great in fact -- I didn't want to lose the fact that it's an old window so I gave it a light distress with 220 grit sandpaper.
I thought it would be fun to "label" what will be hanging in the window panes, and once again the online hardware store D Lawless Hardware didn't disappoint -- Polished Brass Cup Pull Label Holder - 3 1/4" were attached under each pane --- their addition really turns the project up a notch!
Then it was just a matter of attaching a couple of sturdy eye hooks and braided gauge wire so the window can now be hung on the wall.
Because it's Summer, I chose to hang some botanical prints from, "Winterthur's Twelve Months of Flowers" , but I'm sure I'll definitely be changing up my window frame for the seasons. So simple and such an impact hanging on my living room wall! Feel free to check out my full post on this project! http://www.clockworkinteriors.com/?p=2172
